What is in English Growth Model?
English Growth Model, as the title itself tells is an endeavour to direct learners to develop English.
It is an attempt to assist learners work autonomously and update their abilities in English.
There are six videos which direct you to become an independent learner.
These six videos will answer the questions -
1 - What are the different skills in English?
2 - Why are these skills important?
3 - What are the resources available?
4 - Where to find the resources.?
In this world driven by technology, it is hard to stay away from English. The Internet has become the mother of all resources and it goes without saying that, to use the internet we ought to know English. Most of the online tools are compatible with the language English. The significance of English is rising rapidly and the silent threat is- He who knows not English will be left behind in this techy world.

While learning a language , the fundamental rule is The Wholesome Approach. What is Wholesome Approach? It is, development of all the skills simultaneously and systematically. Here importance is dispersed equally among all the skills. All skills are developed parallelly to achieve the goal - proficiency in English.
The best way to learn a language is - to be involved in skill based activities daily ; with all skills like Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing and Grammar, finding a place on a rotation basis.
Time Table
DAY 1
- Listen to an English song/speech
- BENEFITS
- You will learn to understand spoken language.
- You will learn new words and their pronunciation
- You will benefit from the information you gather by listening.
DAY 2
- Incorporate what you gained by listening, into your Spoken English.
- Practice a speech before a mirror till you are satisfied with what you speak.
- Then speak in English to your friend / mentor/ guide, who can assess you and give you feed-backs
Practice makes a man perfect. So continue speaking in English to all those who encourage you. You will develop the confidence to speak well.

DAY 3
Reading
- Read a comprehension passage and answer to the questions related to the passage.
- Benefits - You will learn to understand a written form
- You come across new words in the passage which you can add to your voca - book( your personal book for English)
- You will stumble on good sentences which you can tweak to serve your communication.
- You will gather information from the comprehension passage that you read.
DAY4
Writing
- As an initial effort - Write a small note on any matter of your choice. Paste it in Grammarly and make necessary corrections.
- Keep doing this on all writing days. When you have practiced enough , you can check for yourselves and appreciate your own effort on the improvement you have made.

- You will improve your writing abilities.
Day5
Grammar
- For this you need to start from the point you already know.
- Choose an appropriate tutor- video / audio / book.
- Follow the tutor wisely.
- Remember, grammar is essential, though it is not the only important skill.

- What you intend to express and what you actually communicate will be the same.
- You will express your thoughts with clarity.
Day 6
- Everyday activities
- Read the newspaper.
- Write what you learn every day in your notebook.

I'm Anuradha Balachandran, a certified TESOL teacher and English confidence building coach from India.
My 30 years of experience teaching English to more than 5000 students of various ages, is the source from where I draw the inspiration to teach many others. I am on a mission to help 1,00,000 aspirants to become proficient and confident in speaking English.
